Flying Forms: Heroines of the Baroque
Time & Location
About the Event
Female role models, whether newly created or biblical, pervade music of the Baroque. Most insightful are those characterizations about women written by women composers. Including works by Jacquet de la Guerre, Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, and Isabella Leonarda, this concert explores how women's stories were told through te lens of women living in the era. With Carrie Henneman Shaw, soprano, and Eva Lymenstull, viola da gamba.
