About the Event
Thomas Walker, Jr., features the music from the salons, courts, and chapels, of Paris in the 17th century.  Fortunately for us, you don’t need rarefied connections or exclusive invites to be privy to this decadent soundscape.  The lute defined the French sound for at least a century, and they favored the most luxuriant suspensions, quirkily displaced rhythms, and just generally prized subtly and ambiguity. Take a couple hours and hear preludes, pavanes, courantes, and chaconnes, by the great lutenists of the age—Charles Mouton, Ennemond Gaultier, and Francois Dufault. You don't want to miss this concert!
